Calman has acquired over Ness Soap, the popular Inverness toiletries brand, after the company went into liquidation earlier this month. Located in the same premises, Calman are looking to rebuild and grow the Ness Soap brand, providing quality handmade products to its customers. In rebuilding Ness Soap we also aim to ensure that the business continues to provide training opportunities for people facing barriers to gaining employment as well as rebuild and grow the business. The Ness Soap range of natural handmade soap, body and bath products will also be available to buy online and in stores.
Ness Soap has an excellent reputation as a social enterprise producing great products and providing a valuable service for the community. We hope to build on this legacy and make it stronger, delivering on the founders’ ambitions for the company. We know the brand has a loyal customer base at home and abroad and we plan to grow sales online and in retail outlets throughout the country as well as increasing our relationship with businesses and hotels in providing their complementary toiletries requirements.
This combination of a quality business providing added benefit, where every customer transaction is a training opportunity, is a perfect match for Calman. From our work at neighbouring Cafe Artysans, we see how much young people benefit from learning the skills for work as the staff team in a real business, and this will enable us to do more.
