We are so pleased that our social enterprise cafe, Cafe Artysans, has now re-opened following it's four month closure due to COVID-19.

The cafe re-opened indoors on Monday 20th of July and it has been lovely to warmly welcome new and regular customers back into Artysans safely and comfortably.

The safety of our staff and customers remains our highest priority and we have made extensive amendments to the cafe and our procedures to ensure this. We have reduced our seating capacity to ensure at least 1m distance between all of our tables and developed clear paths for staff and customers to follow. The cafe team are following thorough cleaning and hygiene procedures throughout each day to ensure the highest level of standard is maintained. High contact areas such as our toilets, door handles and card machine are being regularly cleaned throughout the day.

Cafe Artysans provides experience in a real catering and retail business, covering kitchen, front of house and retail duties, engaging with real customers and operating to high quality industry standard. The skills that young people learn at Cafe Artysans will prepare them to work in any business.

Every penny made at Cafe Artysans is used to improve the life chances of young people in the Highlands for whom we anticipate finding employment will be much harder during and post COVID-19. We also know that disadvantaged and vulnerable young people are likely to be among the hardest hit by the COVID-19 crisis, with a rise in reported mental health issues and youth unemployment (UK Youth, 2020).
